GLENN W. MERRICK
Glenn W.
Merrick
received his B.A. degree in 1976 (majoring in theoretical mathematics and
economics), magna cum
laude, from the University of Colorado where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
Mr. Merrick received his law degree, with high honors, from the
University of Texas in 1979. While at the University of Texas, he was
a Chancellor (top 1%), Order
of the Coif, a member of the Board of Advocates and Articles
Editor of a law review. From 1979 to 1980, he served as a law clerk
to the Honorable Thomas M. Reavley, Circuit Judge, United States Court
of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Mr. Merrick is a member of the
Colorado and Texas bars, and has been admitted to the bars of the United
States Courts of Appeal for the Fifth and Tenth Circuits, and the United
States District Court for the District of Colorado.
From 1980
to the present Mr. Merrick has practiced law in Denver, Colorado. He
is an “AV” peer rated lawyer in the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory, and
the founder and Managing Member of G.W. MERRICK & ASSOCIATES, LLC,
which maintains its offices in the Denver Tech Center. In addition,
Mr. Merrick is an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Denver
College of Law where he has taught various courses since 1988. Mr.
Merrick is a frequent lecturer on the CLE circuit (having been a faculty
member at many dozens of CLE seminars conducted both inside and outside of
Colorado). He is also a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy
and is a member of the American Bar Association, the Colorado Bar
Association and the Denver Bar Association. Mr. Merrick is a member
of the American Bankruptcy Institute and the Commercial Law League of
America and has been listed in The
Best Lawyers in America, Who's Who in American Law, Who's Who in the World and
a host of other Whose
Who publications. Most recently, Mr. Merrick was selected
for the 2007 edition of Colorado Super Lawyers.

Mr.
Merrick is a seasoned trial lawyer and has served as lead trial counsel in
many dozens of trials, both jury trials and trials to the Court. He
has represented both Plaintiffs and Defendants in commercial, real estate,
lender liability, personal injury, malpractice, domestic relations and other
civil litigation. He has won very sizable judgments (exceeding $10
million) on at least three separate occasions, and has won verdicts
completely exonerating clients facing tens of millions of dollars in
liability claims. Mr. Merrick has also served as lead counsel in
substantial breach of contract, construction and securities arbitrations
conducted under both the NASD and the AAA commercial arbitration rules.
Mr.
Merrick has been retained on numerous occasions to provide expert witness
testimony in the areas of insolvency rules, fraudulent transfers and
conveyances, attorney professional responsibility, and the reasonableness
of claimed legal fees.

Among his
other interests, Mr. Merrick serves on the Board of Directors of Muslims
for America, serves as General Counsel to the American Board of Spine
Surgery and the American College of Spine Surgery, is a member of the
Economic Club of Colorado and Valley Country Club, rides a fuel-injected
Softail Deuce (Harley) and serves on the Board of Directors of Crossroads
Theatre, a local community theatre company.
